Annie,
Best of luck to you. I know that some women never want to have one but
I can tell you that both my mother and aunt had them at the age of 40
after having years of female trouble and for both of them it was the
best thing for them. They stopped bleeding heavily, stopped having
painful periods, lost weight, stopped having mood swings, etc. So long
as your doctor continues to monitor your hormones and makes sure that
everything's okay, it should be fine.
