Andrea,

Many doctors are not yet comfortable with considering PCOS nor treating it. I would suggest looking on this board and trying to find a doctor in your area that treats PCOS. If you want to try your doctor once again, go into it with ammunition. For instance, research on this board and purchase some books about PCOS. Highlight and document your symptoms as they relate to the information. Then go to your doctor and request a consultation before an exam. Present the information and the symptoms that are similar, then request that your doctor rule out PCOS. There are sites that have been listed on this board and will be in the archives that state what tests to have done.

Getting a diagnosis for PCOS is often a battle, but one that is worth fighting if for nothing but your own piece of mind. Good Luck.
