Re: Large Cyst with Blood

Brenda, i haven't ever actually had one myself, but know a bit about them as I am an RN on a gynae ward. Sometimes little bits of endometriosis tissue get caught on the ovary and develop into a cyst. These type of cysts usually grow larger as the tissue bleeds each month and the blood has nowhere to go. They are also known as a chocolate cyst as when they are burst in surgery they look like a whole heap of gluggy chocolate - enough to put you off chocolate huh! Usually they are removed when thewy are detected, via laparoscopy if possible. Love Emma
