Lisa, I think more and more as I read these boards, that every woman's body is different and just reacts differently to medications! So who knows. Maybe it is the combination of Met and Thyroid, or just my hormones, I don't know! I'm sorry to hear that you haven't had any success. Somewhere in the back of my mind, don't quote me on it but just a heads up, I THINK I remember somebody saying that their hair started falling out really badly after using rogaine too. Who knows.

I am on 1500mg Metformin daily and 1 1/2 grain natural thyroid. (The natural stuff they take from for-meat animals, not the synthetic like synthroid.) Now, as far as I can tell there should be no difference between the two medications; but my doctor told me that in the case of women and hormonal problems, she has found that synthroid fixes your 'numbers' in your blood work better, but natural thyroid fixes the actual symptoms better.

Anyway I am sorry not to be of much help! I hope something comes along that is good for you soon. (Have you considered a different insulin sensitizer like Avandia?)
