Re: AdoptionFrom: Anne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 22 Nov 2000 17:27:06 -0600 (CST)
Another thing to consider: try contacting a local Crisis Pregnancy Center. They can be a good source of referrals to private adoption agencies. Sometimes you can arrange a private adoption for much less than you might think. It just takes a lot more leg-work on your end. I have a friend who has adopted 3 of her 4 children this way. She was matched with pregnant teens who wanted to adopt out their baby. The agency handled the paperwork for both mother and adoptive parents, and it went straight through the courts. There is of course a little more risk that you may be disappointed if the birth mother changes her mind at the eleventh hour, but if you consider all the options, if may be the right one for some.
