Decreasing Aldactone dosageFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 20 Nov 2000 14:14:23 -0600 (CST)
Hello- I'm 24 and have PCOS. I've been on Aldactone/Spironalactone (200 mg) for the past three years, and my endrocinologist now wants to cut my dose in half (to 100 mg), because she thinks i'm doing well. I am also on Demulen birth control, which i will continue. I have very little acne/hair growth and my weight is so-so (I'm 5-10 lbs overweight). I'm happy about the decrease, but wondering if i'm going to experience any side effects. Does anyone have any experience with this? i woke up this morning with a large, nasty pimple that could be due to PMS, but i rarely get cysts anymore. i've only been taking the "half dose" for three days so i'm hoping that's not it. thanks in advance for the help! -Alex
