Hi! I am Brooke. I will be 20 in June. I was diagnosed in May of this year, but found in my medical records that drs diagnosed me when I was 13 and just put me on BC pills. It wasn't until my mom read an article while getting her hair cut that PCOS was ever an issue. I didn't even hnow what it was...until now. I started getting my own info. Digging anywhere I could to try and find an answer. It's very scary to think that so much is going on inside your body and drs can't stop it. I take 8 different meds every night and am waiting to see a specialist on Nov 30. 3 other doctors say that there's nothing thet can do and I'm not satisfied. I am so tired of PCOS! When people ask me how PCOS makes me feel, I tell them this. PCOS tries to take control, some days I win and some days it wins. That's the quickest way. You'll have good days and bad days...today I'm having a really bad day. I've been on 1000mg of codeine every 6 hours for the past 3 weeks...doctors are just making me comfortable until I see the specialist. You'll get tired of taking meds, but always get info on new ones coming out that can help you. You'll think that noboby in the world will ever understand how you feel physically or mentally...stick with the message board, this is the only outside comfort I have found. Make sure that people in your life understand. My boyfriend is great! He takes very good care of me and is willing to go to great lengths to find help and answers for me, he doesn't think anything of the hair or my weight (you'll hate these two things with a passion!)I have always stayed away from people that will make facial hair and weight an issue and try to embarrass you. I hope I gave you a little bit of info. I'm sorry that it's all negative, but you'll figure out your own way to deal with it. If you don't do anything else...hunt for you own info and ask the message board for help whenever it's needed. We're here for each other...and understand when you think no one else does! Love, Brooke
