L-Carnitine helps to break down fat cells in order to produce energy and plays an essential role in making fatty acids available for energy in muscle tissue. Naturally, it can be found in red meats. It was suggested by CAD, Protein Power, etc. I started taking it back in March along with a Chromium Pic blend and Inositol. Along with a low-carb diet (40-60g) and those meds I lost roughly 30lbs in 3-4 months. I also exercise. I am still maintaining the 30lb loss but was forced to stop taking them and high carb quite often so that I could have many labs drawn over the last 3 months. Once stopped, it is difficult to get back into the strict routine...but slowly, I am getting there. I have started taking the L-Carn & Chromium again although not as faithful as I should...I seem to be in the habit of wanting to take the "weekends" off! But, as long as I am not re-gaining I am quite happy. I still have a long way to go and, hopefully, by next summer, I will be nearing my goal weight.......I hope!!! Good Luck to You!!! Alexis
