A Couple Questions (a bit longer than I expected)From: Stephanie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 16 Nov 2000 12:13:29 -0600 (CST)
I have noticed lately that I have been gettin pretty serious indigestion(sp?). It happens after I eat oatmeal, bread, milk and pretty much anything that has sugar or milk in it. It has started when I started taking met. The indejestion goes in my chest and up my throat and is very difficult to get rid of. Malox or Tums don't work very well and it only lasts a few hours. I don't eat a ton of sugar or carbs but the carbs I do eat seem to give me intense indejestion. Is this acid reflux? I don't know what it is like so I am not sure if I have it and I have heard that it is very dangerous to have it. Can anyone give me some advice? Second, My doctor told me to stop taking DepoProvera so she can see how my periods come. I am not on Met and she said that met will force my periods to come. So does that mean that I need to be careful to not get pregnate now? My next depo provera shot isnt' due until December 7th but I don't want to get pregnate if the metformin will intefere with the birth control that is already in my system. Do I have to worry about getting pregnate if my shot isn't due for a month or should I start using protection right away? I hope this makes sense. Stephanie
