I had no real side effects when I started taking 100 mg (25mg X 4
times/day) of spironolactone. Yes, I do have to take last dose after
6pm at 11pm which did make me get up to pee once or twice a night..but
no gastric related side effects. But when I had been on metformin..even
though I did slowly build up dosage during 4 weeks to 2000 mg/day..had
nausea, diarhea and stomach cramps most of the whole time for 1st 2
months..So met is the harder drug to adjust to, not the
spiro/aldactone...I did stop the met before switching to spiro..but make
sure you drink alot of water to prevent dehydration especially more so
if you take both drugs at same time.
