Has anyone had normal fasting insulin...From: jgv (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 3 Nov 2000 21:02:20 -0600 (CST)
...and subsequently gone through the insulin/glucose tolerance test and seen abnormal reactions? I have been trying to take PCO into my own hands by starting to work out and follow a moderate carb diet. I was on this diet before I went for a fasting glucose/insulin test. My insulin was very low. However, I was diagnosed with PCO 20 years ago and have most symptoms continually since then. Additionally, before low carbing (and when on the BC pill), I had signs of poor insulin/glucose control such as daytime tiredness, headaches, carb cravings and extreme reactions to sugar when I was young. It seems that the latest research suggests all PCO is related to insulin problems and that if it doesn't show on a test, the test isn't sensitive enough. Any thoughts?
