I believe the most unfortunate thing about this disease is the name. PCOS is not only misleading to the people that have it, but also to the people that hear about it. The worst is it is misleading to the doctors. PCOS is a hormonal imbalance, basically it is a disease of the endocrine system. A hysterectomy is not going to solve any of your problems because that is not the primary cause of the disease, just a symptom. My mother was forced to have a hysterectomy a few years ago due to cancerous growths in her ovaries, she still has many of the same symptoms as I do. Now she has to deal with severe hot flashes as well. I firmly believe that having a hysterectomy would only make you feel worse. I know, I know, it really sucks. but there is no one answer. Sorry, keep the faith and take care of yourself.
