Dear Serena, I asked the same question to my Dr. and she told me that if I were to get a hysterectomy that you would weigh what you weigh now forever. She said that because PCOS is hormonal that a hysterectomy will just fix the not having a period part that I would still need to be on drugs and these drugs are worse than what I would deal with just having PCOS. It seems like its a no win situation. I am going to see Dr. Dunaif (the PCOS specialist in Boston) on November 14th. I am going to ask her what her take is on things, and when I know I 'll pass the info on to you.
