AdviceFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Oct 2000 10:48:07 -0600 (CST)
Hi Girls, I've recently been diagnosed with PCOS and I'm trying desperatly to understand it all. I've been an observer on the board for a few weeks now, and the information is great. I've had severe bleeding for 3 months and my gyno has put me on progesterone to stop it. Which has been working well, but for the past 3 days it feels like my ovaries are going to explode (at least I imagine that's how they'd feel!). I spoke to my doctor and he did not offer any advice, I've been collapsing with pain, and he told me my body is getting use to this pill. My choices for a gyno are very limited and I've picked probably the best, but he's a very stern man, and I'm going for my first ever pap....i've had nightmares about it...can someone out there tell me it won't hurt and not to worry! I'm also thinking about suggesting he put me on metformin, could someone give me some more info on this drug. Will it help me ovulate? Will it make my periods normal again? Can I safely carry a child? There are just so many questions that I'm unsure of, and scared of. Thanks for listing.
