My Endocrinologist told me that Wheat bread was worse that white bread at effecting my insulin when he gave me a High protein diet. He also said eating a deli bagel was like eating a LOAF of bread.

"Normal" heathy diests are going to tell you that wheat is better. A serious Low carb Endo will probably tell you to avoid both. My endo seemed almost fanatical about avoiding all starch carbs. He did let me eat veggies and fruit though - but I had to follow an order Protein - veggies - fruit (1 piece at each meal)

But hey - I am a big STINKAROONI when it comes to low carbing - it's just not in my blood. -- HA not in my blood - okay, it is getting late....
