A 24 hour urine collection ( meaning every single drop you produce!) will be measured for free cortisol. Then a dexamethasone suppression test, whihc involves taking two dexamethasone tablets at 11pm and then the next morning at 8am having blood taken to measure your cortisol levels. The dexamethasone suppresses the adrenal glands and hence the lower cortisol level. If you have cushings, the cortisol will still be raised even with the test. Love Emma
