A cure for PCOS? Removal of adrenals for adrenal based PCOSFrom: Alicia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 2 Oct 2000 21:52:43 -0500 (CDT)
I am so frustrated with this PCOS stuff.....I have it bad and have adrenal based PCOS that I told one friend, hey wouldnt life be easier just to get my adrenals removed and have no androgens pumping through adding to a serious weight problem, looks and other things, no aldosterone making my blood pressure higher than a kite, no more panic and depression. I then would just take some cortisone to keep alive and keep from going Addisonian---But no more scary hormones making me sick. THis seems like this would be an option for people with really severe PCOS. maybe for Victoria...I think that was her name! Anyhow why wouldnt this work? and How come removing the ovaries doesnt work for those with ovary based PCOS. I know for sure mine is adrenal based. no cysts on ovaries and high hormones being pumped out of the adrenals. They remove the hormone causing tumors in Cushings which has many of the same symptons of PCOS...why not for us? I know this is a drastic measure it would be best for those disabled from their PCOS or very ill.
