Dear Gina, HPV can be caught even with the use of a condom 100% of the time. Also, HPV will not come back on a culture. HAve you had a colposcopy? A colposcopy allows the doctor to have a closer look at your cervix with a magnifying light. (S)He paints vinegar and sometimes iodine on the cervix to look at any abnormal areas. Considering 80% of the adult population carry the HPV, it isn't unusual at all to know four people who have cervical changes. Also, sometimes the PAP smear can be misleading or inconclusive as some people have irritation of the cervix, so a colposcopy is definitely recommended to see anything the PAP may have missed. Love Emma
