Susan - I don't know if the reaction is "normal" but it is something that is apparently common enough that they warned me about it before I started my testing, and they also checked on me periodically to make sure it wasn't happening. They explained why that happens but I can't remember what they told me now, sorry. Also, the test that can come back saying it's normal when you are IR is the fasting glucose test... I think for the most part the IGTT (3hr test) is accurate since it measures your insulin instead of just glucose. My tests were normal until the IGTT. Susan J
