Hi- To answer some of your questions.....(I'm not a doctor or an expert but have some thoughts on your questions)

1. I don't think one diet helps all people. I think you should try a few and find out which one you feel comfortable with. If you don't like to measure and count you might want to just try to stay away from refined carbs at first like white flour products, sugar, white rice, etc and see how your body reacts.

2. The medical community says that losing 1-2 pounds a week is the safe limit. You are more likely to keep it off if it comes off gradually not all at once.

3. There are some women who have symptoms of PCOS (hirsutism, absent menses) without being overweight. They are called "Skinny PCOERS". You probably have an elevated testosterone level and your LH/FSH ratio is probably out of whack. Also, some women have an adverse reaction to the BCP which could have caused your weight gain.

4. I think that low carb dieting can help with your symptoms but people react differently to different approaches. I know some women have had great success with low carbing and exercising consistently.

You could go to http://www.soulcysters.com and read the stories there. The founder of the website has a really inspirational story and she had an adverse reaction to BCP too!

Hope this helps, Danielle
