Because you don't have problems with your weight you hopefully should be able to control that aspect of the disease. People who don't know they have PCOS until weight has already piled on find them self in a vicious circle. Excess insulin causes excess weight gain which causes higher oestrogen levels (fatty tissue increases oestrogen production), throwing your hormones even further out of whack. So, you are starting with agood hand in terms of weight, you will be able to keep a close eye on it and get your insulin under control. PCOS isn't related to diabetes as such, but does increase your risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Good luck for getting well, Love Emma
