I had severe cystic acne (I was just one big CYST!) when I was a teen and went through two successful rounds of Accutane. Now in my twenties, I have had very good success with a combination of topicals. I was prescribed Triaz which is a wash to use in the shower. Then I use a combination of Retin-A and Cleocin T Gel. The Retin-A can be harsh so I use that only when I have a flare up. This works well on my face back and chest. The Triaz also helped the brown dirty looking areas I had under my breasts. It has a sort of bleaching agent that is not harmful to my skin.
