the studies were a combo...apparently met can cause minimal damage to the kidneys, and low carb can cause minimal damage as well...together these build on each other causing additional damage. it is really simple...reducing carbs to a normal amount will be wonderful for you, but low-carbing like 30 g per day...is just too much for the poor kidneys to handle...please remember i am not saying that this is a definate occurance, just that studies INDICATE...and to me that is too much of a risk...

i will talk to my doc and see where the studies came from, i red them out of his journal clippings....will TRY to see if i can get copies or something....but i wont be going back for awhile =(....maybe we can look online?
