Re: ??Questions about Metformin: side effects and results

I started at 500mg a day and worked up to 1500mg a day (I've been on for almost two months). I never had really severe side effects, but each time I increase I get a little blucky feeling. I've been taking a multi-vitamin with the met each day and that seems to make me feel better. Make sure you space it throughout the day and take it with food.

I've also found that eating a lot of carbs or drinking alcohal make me feel horrible. I went out for Italian and had a glass of wine and thought I'd die by the time I got home! Caffiene also makes me feel sick.

As for results, I've had fabulous results. I feel better than I have--ever! I've had two 28 day cycles, eat less (I don't know if I've lost weight because I don't weigh myself), feel more active, less depressed (even during pms), and my "beard" is starting to slow it's rate of growth.

I go to the doctor in October, so then I'll find out about my hormone levels, etc.

So, I see met as a god-send! Hopefully, you'll get the benefits I have. My advice is to build up to the 1500mg.

Good Luck!
