8.1 mcU/mL fasting insulin-please tell me if this is hypo/tested at wrong time

My fasting insulin level was 8.1 mcU/mL (Notice the unitis diff than others I've looked up-not the miU)and I want to know if that is hypoglycemic? I was given the test in the morn and I had breakfast 3 or 4 hours prior to taking. I was also wondering if maybe I do have insulin resistance and my insulin level was low because it took a "nose dive" as I read it another post and this happens with hyperinsulemia. My gyn told me I was not a good candidate for met because of the low level. Someone please offer your wisdom. Thanks.
