I think some of your problems may lie in the fact that you started out at such a high dose. My doctor had me start out at 1000mg and now I am up to 1500mg. I have been taking Metformin for about 2 months now. I feel better but still suffer from the symptoms you are describing. Maybe you should lower your dose for a couple of weeks and work your way up to 1500mg.
