'wild yam' creamFrom: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 11 Sep 2000 23:14:59 -0500 (CDT)
Hi all you beautiful ladies! I haven't popped in for weeks...months??? I started to homeschool my son [WHAT a joy beyond description!!!! :o) ] So, I've been way busy. But I had a question that I felt you could answer...so here goes. I want to try a progesterone cream - my girlfriend with PCOS says it works good. I've done a *little* research and this is what I've found: They said that a cream called "progest" is a chemically altered cream which contains an "extra atom" so it doesn't work too great in the body. They said that "wild yam" cream really isn't a progesterone at all, so it didn't do much either. They said, however, that it could be *converted* into a progesterone and then it worked great. Then I heard there's another "natural" cream that has already been converted and matches almost perfectly the progesterone in our own bodies. I am SO confused. I'm so daffy when it comes to stuff like this. But I really want to try some. I know my progesterone levels are way low. I heard that using this kind of cream helps regulate your pacreas function and helps you to not excrete so much insulin. Right now I'm an insulin factory going out of control!!! Anyway, ANY help would be much appreciated! Love to all of you, Kristy B.
