Re: Am I normal?

Hi back,

I must say that you are a very inspiring woman...good for you. The running is probably keeping some of your symptoms at bay now. However, more running will probably not help much - sorry. I used to race-walk 5 miles every day, and lost no weight at all. Sometimes fighting the insulin is a losing game. I walked so hard, for so long, that I bent the bones in my feet. I have had both feet surgically repaired, and still have problems.

My doc thinks that the insulin resistence prevented me from losing the weight despite diet and exercise. For me, the most successful routine involves lowering my insulin levels. It helps with energy and weight loss. So don't knock yourself out, or beat your self up - this is a physical disorder. I believe that if it is left for many years, other problems will slow us down. Like diabetes and heart disease. Keep up the great running, I am glad you can still do it. But please don't leave your symptoms untreated by a good endocrinologist.

luck and love, SusieQ
