Question on fetal development and PCOSFrom: Amber (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 10 Sep 2000 17:32:41 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I am currently researching PCOS as a possible cause of my secondary infertility. My new insurance doesn't start for three more weeks so I'm trying to gather as much information as I can before I meet with a doctor. My question has to do with the developing fetus. My son was born with dialated cardiomyeopathy - basically his heart was enlarged and the left ventricle barely pumps. I read that PCOS can cause heart problems in women but can this extend to the fetus as well? My son's doctors have a guess on what caused his problems but they said they can't be sure, its possible it was caused by something they haven't thought of. Any information you can direct me to would be very appreciated! Thanks so much, Amber
