Re: adopt or start clomid-- need inputFrom: Sonnet (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 3 Sep 2000 15:05:37 -0500 (CDT)
Hey Carrin! (I love your name by the way) Wow, I bet you have nothing else on your mind lately - what a lot of questions that need answers! I wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide and in 'surviving the process...'although I am sure things will go well. Of course I can't make a decision for you, but I'll offer what I know from my own experience: My husband and I are in the process of simultaneously trying to conceive and adopt. We always wanted a blended family! So, whichever you decide, one way or the other, don't feel like the other option gets ruled out for you. Also, don't adopt strictly as a second choice to conception by ruling it out because you have PCOS. Many women with PCOS have successfully conceived and had children. In my own family frowing up, my sister was adopted, and my brother and I are biological. It worked great! My sister was never any different from us, besides her appearance I guess! (She is Korean, we are Swedish!) My aunt and several of my cousins are also adopted, all in families with biological children. All around it has been a great experience. There of course ARE risks with adoption, and I suggest getting a lawyer who specializes in adoption before you do anything, but it is not always or even often a bad thing. It can be a GREAT way to build your family. Sorry this was so long! I do wish you luck!! Happy Family to you :) (You could be a mom by next Mther's Day... think about it!) Much love, Sonnet
