DID I CAUSE PCO?From: neen (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 31 Aug 2000 23:16:08 -0500 (CDT)
I have been hearing from drs. and other sites that say pco can be brought on by a poor diet. I had a very, very bad diet in high school: coke and doughnut for breakfast, a carb feast for lunch and fast food for dinner.Downed at least a two liter of coke everyday. Never touched water! My pco symptoms began after I had my son, 17 yrs old, in which I suffered severe postpartum. Now, I just went to a site that listed the symptoms of excess androgens and it listed pco as one of the SYMPTOMS, not the cause. And then said the cause of excess androgens was too much refined sugar and simple carbs. SO, then were does the IR come in? So, can pco be brought on by a poor diet and lifestyle, like, say, diabetes II can? I am hearing that people have had a big relief from symptoms from solely changing their diet. I am so confused! Here is site so you can check it for yourselves: http://www.johnleemd.net/forms/hb_test.html Thanks
