Daughter's PCOS

My daughter has tremendous bleeding. She is 29 and has never been sexually active. The problem is that she is bleeding so heavily and her insurance doesn't kick in until September. She was diagnosed with PCOS last year and the doctor handed her birth control pills and sent her on her way. She needs to get checked immediately but I don't know the proper avenues to begin. I want to get the best for her but don't even know what kind of doctor to have her see. She is extremely apprehensive of seeing a doctor as she believes it will mean a hysterectomy immediately and although that may be the case, I want to begin with the best possible avenue to help her with these atrocious periods. Last year she was bleeding so badly for so long, without telling me, that she became anemic and almost had to have a blood transfusion. It was calmed by iron pills and rest but now it's flaring up again and she has no doctor to speak of. What should I do? I am very worried about her as I don't know much about this disease.

Her aunt, my husband's sister, died of Cushing Syndrome at 26 years old. Is this a sister disease to PCOS? I need some information and don't know where to begin. Please help.
