After being diagnosed with PCOS and prescribed Metformin, my doctor also put me on low-carb (he recommended Atkins, which is the strictest version of low-carb). However, that strict level is only for the first 2 weeks, then you slowing add carbs until you find the level that you loose about 1 pound a week with. There are a lot of very helpful websites out there to give you tips for recipes, menu planning. I would buy a few of the books, they're usually under $10 and a wise investment and find one that sounds reasonable to you. I've lost 48 pounds with Adkins!
