Hello all, This is my first time visiting this website and it brought tears to my eyes. I now have just turned 31. I have been battling PCO since I was 19 years old. Everything from extremely high doseages of birth control pills to provera, spyrolactene and now gluphomage. Needless to say I have always had a weight problem since right after high school and I have now ballooned up to 240 lbs (I am only 5 5") What is really weird it since I have been taking the gluphomage (3 months now)I have gained weight and I have a huge stomach ( Like a beer belly or pregnate stomach). Everything I am reading about now is telling me, Low Carbs is the cure. Is this really possible?? I have also had 1 successful period since the doctor took me off of the birth control pill (2 months ago) Now I have been due but nothing. I am so stressed out and upset. I don't have any insurance benefits yet ( I will in about 3 months ) and these pills are costing me $80.00 a month. I need some guidance and direction can someone please help. ayoung@northpoint.net
