PCOS: Could I be diagnosed Properly?....Long

Hello, I have had problems with a lot of abdominal pain since I was about 10 but nothing has ever been diagnosed except nervous stomach. After 3 kids ages 5, 3, and 1 I was starting to have a lot of pain and ended up in the ER again. So in February of this year 2000 I was put through a lot of testing in the ER such as Internal exam, countless blood tests, cat scans, sonogram, etc.. I was checked by specialists as well as my ob/gyn and family doctor. They checked me for everything: appendicitis, gall bladder attack, kidney stones or infection (I have kidney problems), bladder infection, urinary tract infection, cysts of the ovaries, pregnancy (had tubal ligation in April of 1999), tubal pregnancy, flu, etc.., I have not had a normal period since I started when I was 12. It has always been every 2-3 months but in the last 7 years I have had 8 periods, and 3 pregnancies. They diagnosed me with PCOS but my ob/gyn says that I do not fit the description. So what is the description? I am 5'4, 130 lbs. blond hair fair complexion, etc.., I am feeling the same way I did back in Feb. high fever of around 101-102 degrees F, bad abdominal pain, headache some days trying to turn to miagraine, back pain, lower back pain, sore throat, light headed, dizzy, frequent urination, tender breasts, nausiated, in general feeling pregnant with cold symptoms! I know I am not pregnant (took a test) I have been like this for 4 days now and it is not improving much other than my menstrual cycle has started now. The sonograms showed that I do not have cysts, and I really don't know what type of testing they did to diagnos me. Oh by the way I am also have a reaction to birth control pills... something in it makes me violently ill...vomiting and doubled over. I have tried many kinds (8) and refuse to try any more.

My question is could I really have PCOS? Is there any other tests I need done? Is this illness normal before and during a menstrual cycle? WHat can be done to feel better?

Thanks... Suzanne
