Advice neededFrom: Leah (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 21 Aug 2000 09:46:39 -0500 (CDT)
Hi all! I'm going to apologize in advance because this will probably be long. I was diagnosed with PCOS in April 2000 when I went to a fertility specialist because of secondary infertility. We discovered I was IR and not ovulating. I started taking Met in May and have been charting my BBT. Since being on Met my cycles (3 of them) have been regular and it looks as if I have ovulated around day 23 for each. Each cycle has been exactly 30 days long. Here's my question. I am now on day 39 of my current cycle. According to my temp. chart it looks as if I ovulated around day 23 as usual, but I am now 9 days late. My temperature spiked on day 23 and has been elevated (except for one drop) ever since. I have taken two (2) home pregnancy tests, both of which were negative. At what point should I contact my doctor to see why my period hasn't started? Is it possible to be pregnant and have home pregnancy tests not pick it up? (Home pregnancy tests worked when I was pregnant the first time). I have to admit I was really disappointed when I took the pregnancy tests. I don't want to get my hopes up, but I am confused why my period hasn't started yet. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks so much! Leah S.
