it is actually a good thing you decided to not low carb today (yesterday) low-carbing before a fasting insulin can give a false "normal" result... as to the pain, well your pancreas could be having a hard time producing all that insulin...or your blood sugars could be spiking really high when you high carb...causing the feverish feeling... also, if you are planning on low-carbing permanently, please please...make sure you are watching the carbs closley...while there is no evidence that low-carbing can cause damage to the kidneys, there ARE strong indications....even adkins suggests taht after you are maintaining, you rotate days...i think it is 4 on low-carb, 3 off....talk to your doc... love, paula
