A few questions here(sorry long)From: Tina (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 14 Aug 2000 21:49:38 -0500 (CDT)
I posted a week ago about my RE appt. All went well. Going back in tommorrow for my fasting insulin test. Then he is going to put me on Met. I've been low carbing like the RE said and I don't really know if this is normal but I dropped about 8 lbs in a week. Going to have them double check that tommorrow. I'm not complaining. I don't see a big difference but definately some. I started out needing to lose 20 to 25. I realize that this is not bad and am very grateful. The assisting doctor seemed to think that at the rate I was going that I sought out treatment at a good time. Honestly I have many of you to thank for that because of the enormous amount of info I recieved here. Well, the reason I am writing is because of the test tommorrow I decided to not watch my carbs today. I had an awful headache earlier after drinking 1 pepsi. I laid down for a couple hours and it did ease up. I had dinner(not low carb) and it came back even worse. Along with feeling nausea. I took tylenol and the headache is now dulled. Still nausiated. Is this normal? Also for a couple of years I get awful pains under my rib especially on the left side. I went to see my new regular doctor some months ago because this was gradually getting worse. Along with that I was running a low grade fever which stayed with me for over two weeks although I was on antibiotics. He said that he felt there was a possibility of an infection in my pancreas. The fever had gone away but the pains still would come pretty often. This past week low carbing I've had no pain. Today- the one day off the low carbs it is aching and I feel feverish. Now I know the pancreas releases insulin. Should I be concerned about this? Does anyone else have these symptoms? I think it is related to pcos but just a guess. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. I know I'll be on a low carb diet permanently and it should help but I wonder if I need to have this looked at further. My regular doctor seems dumbfounded about it. I just don't feel that it is normal. Please help with any info- Thanks for listening to me blab on..Love, Tina
