I felt compelled to respond. Firstly, I'd like to verify something......I read that PCOS is NOT a curable disease. Like AIDS, there are treatments, but NO CURE. If this is correct, how can Bryanna NOT have PCOS anymore?? I'm very confused by that. Perhaps she was misdiagnosed?? Or is there some way to be "cured" and/or rid of the disease?? I'm very interested in knowing. Secondly, I can certainly understand Victoria's anger and frustration. I am going through the same B.S. with my GYN clinic and getting the "Your fat, lose weight, it's your fault" treatment also. However, I was not offended by Bryanna's post. It did confuse me and made me go "Hmmmm" as to how she can be cured of PCOS, but I was not offended. On the same note, I can WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree and understand where Victoria is coming from. It seems she has gotten this ill "treatment" from docs just like I have. I was flat out told that there was NO treatment available and was continuously had the stomach stapling surgery thrown at me to lose weight; as if that would really help with the root of the problem. I think this proves how obesity is also a social disease as well and how others react to it--and to hear this trash from doctors, people we are supposed to trust and learn from, that just makes it even worse. How can they blatantly deny us treatment and point the finger at us?? I'm not saying this happens to everyone, but I have gotten my share of the blame and misconceptions. Just hang in there Victoria. I'm sure Bryanna didn't mean to tease or throw the subject back in our faces. This board is all about sharing experiences and success stories, so please, don't take any posts personally. However, I would like to know how she was able to rid of PCOS if it is an uncurable disease.
