Hi Jennifer, Your post is very interesting. Recently, I saw an in-depth report on women taking the pill non-stop to prevent their periods and the report said this was a good idea for those whose periods are more trouble for them (like mine). The doctors stated that women who are on the pill (especially if they are on it to regulate themselves or help with period flow) do not menstruate NATURALLY on their own (that's what the placebo pill is for, aside from helping you to remember to take your pills). Therefore, there is no risk for endometrial cancer because the uterus lining does not build up--due to not having your period---the hormones in the pill prevent this from happening. This is one thing I have to ask my doctor about. Because of the horror I go through every month with my periods and the pain that is associated, the option of just continuing my pill to NOT bleed is very enticing. Then again, I don't take the pill for it's birth control, I started taking it to put myself in a cycle, and from then on, it's supposed to help minimize the dreadful heavy bleeding I have--but that hasn't been happening. I can't remember the title of the show that I saw, but I know it was full of doctor's studies and such. I don't get Redbook, so I haven't seen the article that you read, but I find it interesting that we have heard about 2 totally opposite "facts" about this issue.
