well, it could be that the bcp you are on does not have a high enough dose to induce a normal period, it could be that the uterine lining is not building up to a normal degree between periods.

personally, i dont prefer the bcp. i know that many women on here use it in addition to the medication for I.R/PCOS to help induce a period, but i prefer provera.

when i was on the bcp, i only had a period every 2-3 months. you should either educated your doctor...or better yet...find a new one who is understanding and willing to help you with the pcos, not just mask the symptoms.
