Re: almost absent menses even on birth control pills, anyone else??From: anonymous@obgyn.netWed, 9 Aug 2000 09:16:21 EDT
I cannot take BCPs, but for 7 years, I used to take Provera about every 2-3 months. The first few times, it didn't work, but then I started responding to them. Later, I stopped responding to them again. I have been able to get some weight off and change a few things, including my activity level. I now have one on my own about every 2-3 months, though I still do not ovulate. I have an appointment soon with a doc who is going to put me on Met. Then I will have a better chance of functioning properly. I wouldn't worry about not being able to get pregnant because of what you've taken. I would get myself a doctor, if yours won't cooperate, who will treat the rest of your PCOS too, and not just your periods. Please, keep reading and reading so that you will know if you're getting good treatment and keep in touch with the ladies on this board. Love, Rachelle
