Diagnosed w/PCOS 1999-Had Total Hysterectomy same year!From: Anne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 8 Aug 2000 12:14:33 -0500 (CDT)
Hi! My name is Anne and I am a soon to be 27 yo who has PCOS. I was diagnosed last year in June after a laproscopsy. My disease was so advanced and I was in so much pain and that the gloom fact was that the only option was a total hysterectomy. Afterwards they also found that there were problems in my uterus as well. When I found out that I had PCOS, part of me felt validated that there was a reason for almost 10 years of ill health and medical problems. The other part of me felt cheated out of a normal happy life because doctors continually misdiagnosed me and blamed it on the fact that I was overweight or that it was all in my head. I finally found an amzing Doctor who diagnosed me, and I will never have children, but my quality of life has improved 100%. I quickly lost 50 plus pounds but now I am not losing any and would like advice from those of you who have been successful in weight loss and maintaining a healthy life. Also, are there any of you who have had hysterectomys as well? I would also like to make myself available to answer any questions anyone may have and offer support! Thank You -
-- Anne E. Mariconi
