Well, I know other people who have had trouble with ovarian cysts who have no symptoms whatsoever of PCOS. My sister in-law has had quite a problem with them in the last 10 years and she doesn't have ANY other symptom of PCOS. (Thin, healthy, beautiful skin, and 5 beautiful children). I knew a girl in high school that was taken to the ER for the same thing. She was also overweight and she had juvenile diabetes. My opinion is that your sister may be suspect for PCOS simply because of these symptoms and her blood relation to you, since they feel it is genetic. It wouldn't hurt if they could persuade a doc to do an IR on her, check her hormone levels and other symptoms. It may save her a lot of what she could go through. Let us know what they say.
