ques. about carbs and fertility with pcosFrom: anne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 4 Aug 2000 13:48:10 -0500 (CDT)
hi everyone, I have two quick questions. The first is regarding carbs. I am vegetarian and an athlete so I eat alot of carbs, no prob with weight (though I've gained some in past when not as active). Should I be concerned about the amount of carbs I'm eating? What test should be done to make sure I'm not harming myself by eating a diet high in carbs? I'm going to dr. next week to have all these tests done, so your help is appreciated! As for fertility, what is the link between being infertile and PCOS? Is it the hormonal levels? The cysts? I'm not sure I understand this -- if hormone levels are not really upset, is there a higher chance for fertility? If I want to become pregnant in the next two years, are there steps I can start taking now to help that process alon when the time comes, or do I wait & see how it goes then? Hope this doesn't sound stupid! Thanks to everyone on the board; it helps me so much :--)
