Sorry, ladies, I don't know how that goofy thing happened and I put nothing up there on the board, but here's my real response. (Excuse me for being a bit behind on these posts.) Here's what I know about Tagamet....it was discovered that it helped with stomach problems several years back and it helped people avoid surgery because it actually heals ulcers! Cool, huh? My mom was on it for a few years and totally got rid of her ulcer-prone problems. She was told that it did have a side effect of affecting your short term memory, and she felt that it did, somewhat, too. Some time later, they started to make Tagamet available over the counter and it came into use as an acid-reducer. However, the plot thickens......my son, 4 years ago, went to the dr. with a bunch of warts on the soles of his feet and that dr. prescribed Tagamet for him because it had been discovered that it helped warts go away, also. Remember that many meds are used for more than one purpose! I think using this one for PCOS sounds like a possibility, and I'd try it if I were you! Your dr. may know about a new trend with Tagamet.
