Re: Why this board is triggering to me.

MJ- Thank you for reminding us that it is important to not let this syndrome ruin our lives. I agree with you about that. I do need to clear some of my thoughts though, so try to forgive me if this sounds cold. It is not intended to be. I have visited this board for months and it has really been helpful to me. More so than any thing else in regards to dealing with PCOS. I do not know what the problem is all of the sudden, but this board has now become a reflection of the rest of society. I always thought the women on this board were special and more compassionate than the general population. It seems now that this has just become a place for people to bitch at and pick on people. I understand the point of your message, but when you say it bothers you that we seek advice on hair removal, does that mean that we should all just let our beards and mustaches grow because you think it's ok? I DO accept myself, but just as I fix my hair, brush my teeth, shower, wear clean clothes, etc., it is my choice to remove my facial hair. It does not mean that there is something wrong with my self-worth. It is a shame that this formerly open, compassionate, safe place has become a place where we all must be on the defensive out of fear of asking a "stupid" question, worrying about something that someone else thinks we shouldn't worry about, seeming insensitive if we joke, and hoping that we don't offend anyone who *really* has *severe* PCOS! Personally, I can find this kind of crap in the general population - I thought this was my safe place. Not anymore.
