Well, Paula... You and I have similar thoughts. Unfortunately, between my job (and 1 1/2 hours commute each day), trying to work around the house as my health problems let me, I haven't had much time to investigate!!! Maybe you can find a common link here... About ten years ago, I wen through a number of endocrine tests. At the time, I had severe PMS symptoms every month. A cortisol test (for Cushing's disease)showed high cortisol levels but a second test done six weeks later had normal levels. More than once I've had thyroid test come back abnormal but the doctors (more than one has seen the same results) have just thrown up their hands and said "I don't know what could cause this pattern." My results would be T3 low, T4 high, "index" normal and TSH normal. At one time, I wora a Medic Alert bracelet with the message "Subject to Hormonal Imbalances" because that described my situation. I've gone back to my first message - "Diabetes, Non-insulin Dependent" because more people would understand the problem and I'm most likely to have problems with my blood sugar levels. Good luck with your research!
