Have a great vacation, Lori. That's terrific that you saw the dietician and will have help from that quarter. I'll look forward to hearing about your adventures in ADA land after you return -- all that stuff about exchange portions, etc., sounds so complicated and I'll be interested to hear whether you experience it as complicated. I'm sure everybody here will be very supportive -- they always are. As for your friends and b.f., maybe you could print out Paula's article on insulin resistance. It helped somebody else's husband to understand, and perhaps could help those close to you. That way you'll have support all around!

Cheers for now -- Alina

The dietician said I can expect to lose about 1-2 lbs a week on the diet. I am 250 now and want to be about 170. So I figure I have a lot of work ahead of me. I will keep everyone posted on my progress, but I am asking for support. I am the only "fat girl" among my friends and my bf is an ideal weight. Therefore I have no real means of moral support cause they just don't understand. I know myself well enough to know that I need support and I am asking my fellow cysters to help. I would be glad to return the favor. I am a carb addict, after all I am a college kid who lives on Mac N cheese. I think that is gonna be the hardest part. So after I return from my vacation I will prolly post every day for my own benefit, and to help anyone who has questions. So I guess my warning is, if you don't care....I would skip my messages :)
