Re: 200 Mg. Clomid - Did anyone have abdominal pain?From: Michele (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 24 Jul 2000 23:08:51 -0500 (CDT)
Good to hear the pain went away. From your response I see that your testosterone was high. But you don't mention what your fasting insulin was or if you have had a igtt done yet. It is important that you have at least the fasting insulin done and if that comes back normal then maybe the igtt. I gather your aware that the underlying cause of pco and our infertility problems is having elevated insulin. While clomid is used only for fertility. The met/glucophage is used to treat the elevated insulin which caused the infertility. Glucophage/met should be the first form of treatment because it will improve your health overall whether or not you are trying to get pregnant. If you do get pregnant once you have stopped breast feeding you will want to go back on met or another insulin sensitizing medication, because if you don't you may develope diabetes, heart disease or endometrial cancer. This month's fertility treatment wasn't succesful, started on day 34 of my cycle negative preggo test. Disappointed but it was only our first official go at it with the assistance of fertilty meds, so I'm hopeful. I think my insulin which has dropped with the met but is still very high at 42, is effecting the implantation. Just started 1500 mg of met, hope that will bring it down a little faster. Maybe we'll get lucky this month, if not in september, I think we will add insemination into the mix. Good luck to you.
